ORLEN Deutschland GmbH is building a new e-charging park in Elmshorn, close to the A23 motorway. The modern charging park with 16 high-power charging points is part of the company's strategy to further develop electromobility in Germany. The symbolic ground-breaking ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Elmshorn, Volker Hatje, and representatives of ORLEN Deutschland.
ORLEN Deutschland is building a state-of-the-art charging park on an area of 1,500 square metres on Werner-von-Siemens-Straße in Elmshorn. This will be equipped with eight Alpitronic HYC-400 fast-charging stations, with a total of 16 charging points offering an impressive charging capacity of up to 400 kW. The spacious charging stations will be fully covered and the roof will be equipped with a photovoltaic system to generate sustainable electricity. In addition to the charging facilities other services will be provided for users to further increase convenience during charging times.
“It is a great pleasure for me to be involved in the launch of this innovative construction project by ORLEN. An e-filling station directly on the A23 highway is not only of great importance for the people of Elmshorn and the surrounding area, but also for all travellers who drive in their electric vehicles and need to stop for charging. With the installation of this e-fuelling station, the company is setting another example for sustainable mobility and environmentally conscious energy supply. It is a further building block for an environmentally friendly future of mobility and improves the infrastructure of our city,” says Volker Hatje, Lord Mayor of Elmshorn.
“With this step we are sending a further signal in favour of expanding charging infrastructure in order to meet the increasing demand for efficient charging options and promote electromobility in our own network. We are particularly pleased that we are able to realise our first charging park in the immediate vicinity of our company headquarters in Elmshorn“, says Artur Frankiewicz, General Manager ORLEN Deutschland GmbH.
Completion of the e-charging park in Elmshorn, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the A23 motorway exit Elmshorn and the federal highway 431, is planned for the end of 2025. ORLEN Deutschland currently operates over 40 charging points in Germany. The company's e-mobility offering operates under the ORLEN CHARGE brand and is based on three strategic pillars: the construction and operation of e-charging parks, the expansion of e-mobility together with and at partners, and the integration of charging infrastructure in ORLEN's own and star's network of petrol stations, which comprises over 600 stations across Germany.
